busy preparing for CNY and caulfield...
9 more days left.

after dinner I was outside at the garden talking on the phone and enjoying the breeze. then suddenly a kid from next door came by and chatted a little with me. he was yet so innocent, still attending kindergarten. living in his own world, he was a happy little kid. the bicycle time that he was enjoying seems like everything. all the happiness, enjoyment... it was just simple.

years ago, I was like this little kid. I was enjoying every single thing that I did, trying to do my best and get the most out of it. the outcome didn't really matter, as long as the process was fun. things that I do didn't really matter to the rest of the world, but it would have made me feel achieved. being a little kid, there ain't much to be thought of. doing what we want to do, everybody can just find a simple reason to forgive whatever mistakes committed. all because, 'she's only a child!'.

it isn't really that fun to grow up. all the adult 'fringe benefits' entails with huge responsibilities and put us down with much restrictions. as we grow older, it is presumed that we will take up more burdens and carry on with life. social norms, self expectations, other's expectations... everything matters. a single mistake committed can be viewed as a grave mistake. some mistakes cannot be forgiven no matter how many 'sorry' you say. it wasn't that simple after all...

losing the innocence, we start to become somebody that we didn't really want to be as we grow up. some of the simple and easily-contented thoughts that we used to have are vanishing as we claim to be 'of age'.

childishness - a profound word used by grown-ups in disguise for their inability to act like a kid.

and life gets more and more complicated...
I miss being a child. being protected. being simple.
tired. just need a rest, a sleep.

cut my hair short short!!! =)

haha, many people can no longer recognize me. yup yup~ that's how short it is.

first time after so many years to have short hair. still remembering the primary school days where my hair was quite teruk. all because it is curled and I didn't bother much about it. heh, but nowadays its getting smoother and straighter, all thanks to the amount of conditioner and the amount of treatment that I put in.

wahaha. thanks to uncle ben-gio kor kor for the haircut! =)

When a girl is quiet... millions of things are running in her mind.
When a girl is not arguing ... she is thinking deeply.
When a girl looks at u with eyes full of questions ... she is wondering how long you will be around.
When a girl answers "I'm fine" after a few seconds ... she is not at all fine.

When a girl stares at you ... she is wondering why you are lying.
When a girl lays on your chest ... she is wishing for you to be hers forever.
When a girl wants to see you everyday... she wants to be pampered.
When a girl says "I love you" ... she means it.
When a girl says "I miss you" ... no one in this world can miss you more than that.

Life only comes around once make sure u spend it with the right person ....

Find a guy...
who calls you beautiful instead of hot.
who calls you back when you hang up on him.
who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.

Wait for the guy...
who kisses your forehead.
who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats.
who holds your hand in front of his friends.
who constantly reminds you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you.
who turns to his friends and says, " That's her!! "

extracted the bottom left wisdom tooth today.

pain~ pain~ pain~ pain~ pain~ pain~ pain~ pain~ pain~

the surgery was prolonged because of some unforseen complications. the roots of the tooth are extremely curved, making the extraction more difficult. and it bloodily lasted for 2 hours!!! fell asleep during the 1st hour because the dentist was just doing the same stuff, shaving the crown off and then attempting to take the roots out. due to the huge impact that he had made on my lower jaw, I 'woke up' in response to the tension. surprisingly my teeth was so deeply embedded that the dentist didn't manage to clear everything out despite all the strength that he used. hence he started shaving almost every part of the roots and finally removing every single bit.

a huge amount of stitches was done after clearing the hole in my jaw. and every single thread that went into my mouth was actually presented in front of me before entering. *pengsan* this time round the amount of thread was almost doubled. and immediately after the extraction I can already see my face swelling up. oh my tian!

after the surgery the nurse actually made a comment on me:
'she's quite strong, not that kind that bleeds easily.'

haha... am I suppose to take that as a great compliment?

pineapple tarts~pineapple tarts~pineapple tarts~pineapple tarts~pineapple tarts~

spent a whole day in the kitchen today doing pineapple tarts. bleah, then I realise how hard it is to make pineapple tarts. because you have to wrap each one delicately and then cut the top part... after that have to put the glaze and then only can send it into the oven. oh my tian, no wonder it taste exceptionally nice when you put it into your mouth.

sommor the whole process took a very very very long time. excluding the jam-cooking part, basically a total of 9 hours were spent just to bake 5 tins. and the time taken to cook the jam was approximately 4 hours. so in total more than half a day's time is used!!!

scary sia~ so please treasure every single pineapple tart that you are going to eat during CNY. think of the hard work and efforts that has been put into the little tart. appreciate it =)

met up with a long-time-no-see friend today.

she was a special friend.
because she's born on the 17th march 1988.
exactly one year before me.
and she stays opposite my house last time.
we attended the same primary and secondary school.
we were in the same CCA too.
coincidentally, we ended up in the same university.
but the closeness in our friendship is nowhere to be found anymore.

certain misunderstandings and human politics has disrupted the friendship.
neither of us are clear about what happened.
all that I know of is that, the gap is there and it is getting bigger and bigger.
its almost impossible to return to status quo.
whatever it is, I am glad that up till today I am still in contact with her.

being close friends ever since our elder brothers got to know each other thru playing badminton outside our houses, she was the one that knew about my first crush. she was always there whenever I feel down last time. everything that I ask her, she doesn't hesitate to answer me. all the girl's secrets and all the gossips. we even had same hobbies and dislikes. I bet if our relationship had been that good ever since then, now probably she'll be even closer than an elder sister to me. we used to go to school and come back home together. sitting in the same vehicle, there are just so much about us to be shared. academic, personal, even reflections on teevee programmes.

perhaps its just a miss in my life, not being able to maintain this very special friendship.
well, people do learn from mistakes, don't they?

just hope that this will serve as a pretty good lesson for me ba!

so enough about play time and now back to my usual busy schedule.

haven't really started packing stuff to Australia. due to the tight schedule, I better start packing now because CNY is around the corner and there are simply too much things that I need to settle before I fly off. bleah... I don't like it when everything is crammed up. =(

now writing the packing list. then I realise just the bags and the shoes are already giving me problems. I wonder if I should bring a lot of them, but it will then take up a lot of the luggage space. but if I don't bring enough for each and every occasion, I am afraid that I will have to buy it there. haih, even though I feel like going there to shop, the exchange rate is shock-ing de lorh...

after the bags and the shoes will be the clothes. spring, summer, autumn, winter. well, even though the difference in weather is not that large, but the amount of clothing that I have to bring is like ... ... ... haih. apparels are such troublesome stuff. formal wear, dinner wear, normal wear, casual wear, sports wear... what else? it seems like everything lorh!

then the personal effects. make-ups are almost essential even though I don't put them on very often. skin care is a must due to the humidity over there. personal care and hygiene has to be well taken care of to give a positive image. rrrRRR, so many things!!!

other than personal items, I believe that the next on the list will be books and stationeries. textbooks are still unknown, making it almost impossible to decide on what to buy now. therefore I guess will have to trouble people in m'sia to help us out. as for my 2nd hand books, I am trying to sell off my marketing textbook at the price of RM80. pens and foolscap papers, I guess that will be the stuff that I will bring over gua.

hmm... most important thing: MONEY!!!

hee, at this point of time I only paid for the bond fees to secure for my accommodation there. so first month's rent will have to be in my hands as I land there. at this moment I think traveller's check will be the most efficient and convenient method to bring AUD with me. mummy's thinking of getting an ATM account so that she can give money to me. either ways, as long as I plan out my budget and give them the round figure then I guess my 'financial problems' will be settled. =)

***
changed my phone from a 7370 to N95. still in the process of learning how to use it.
installed skype and is currently searching for somebody that uses it so that I can test mine out.
going to teach mummy how to go on MSN, use gmail and skype.
visa's health check is done.
temporary accommodation for the 1st night is almost settled.
housing matters considered done on my part.
extracting my left wisdom tooth in the following week.
have to do household chores and help out with the cookies making.
going to kl next weekend.
prepare myself for my 'adventure'!

oh my shen, so many things awaiting for me!!!
rarrrrrrrrrrRRRrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

this is the 3rd day since my right wisdom tooth bid farewell to my mouth. this is completely insane. I mean like, why the hell do people get wisdom tooth when it doesn't increase their level of wisdom in general? and due to the fact that people will get wisdom tooth, I have to spend like hundreds of dollars just to remove it from my mouth.

days of medication has made me officially gong gong. plus hong hong, my best friend has decided to visit me at the same time. then I realised what is to be referred to as PEKCHEK. haha, nevertheless I am now in the midst of the great escape. like so ~nice~

visited audrey's house for a while yesterday because of some unforseen circumstances. hmm, hard to imagine that actually she's been in NJCIP for 4 years. and it has been 6 years since I first started to know her. anyway, thanks fo letting me tumpang in her house to resolve my complications... haha, even though in the end we still didn't have the chance to enjoy the tekong tau-hway...

ying xu, even though I didn't get to meet you at clarke quey today, we can still meet on the day I fly off what... haha, and datou please take good good care of yourself. don't fall sick so easily larh...

ivy, nothing larh, just becoming more and more whiny because my mouth is half malfunctioned. heh, tell me more about you working in kl!!!

=)

as we carry our steps into the new year, there have been some unpleasant events happening in the political arena. not just M'sia, considering that Benazir Bhutto was assassinated followed by a suicide bombing, there is this significant event which shock many Malaysians.

ex-Health Minister Dr.C was caught posing in a sex-video filmed in a Johor hotel. initially it was just an anonymous video that was filmed 2 years ago and the characters inside were told to be one of the leaders of the leading political party. however, recently there is a wide circulation of this video in many districts of Johor. there is even rumours that the video, which was divided into 2 parts with the duration of 1-hour each, is now going at a sky-high price of RM50. (a normal DVD would cost RM5)

following the circulation being investigated, Dr.C actually stood out and admitted that he's the man in the video. this press conference took place shortly after Dr.C met up with party leaders and also leaders of the country. at this moment, Dr.C expressed his apology to everybody including his family, friends and all members of the public. he has also clarified the female being a close personal friend. most importantly, he said that he was not going to resign any of his posts in the political party as well as in the cabinet.

within 24 hours since the 1st press conference, Dr.C called for another press conference. this time round, he announced his resignation from all the political posts that he was holding to. some statements mentioned in the press conference were worth pondering upon. one of the more significant one would be, 'the only wrong thing that I have done is to visit the same hotel and same room all these while'. he also exclaimed that he felt relieve now that he's a free man.

***
knowing that Dr.C was from Johor and the video is actually filmed and circulated in Johor, I felt embarrassing to be a Johorean. as a Malaysian, I view this incident as one that would bring about reasonable amount of damages to my country's image. certainly, the individual's and the political party's image is already damaged. I mean like, as a known political figure, there are much stricter codes of conduct that are to be adhered with. it is of a leader's responsibility to hold up the party's image, nevertheless a country's image.

the incident is totally unacceptable to me in any ways. however, Dr.C's resignation also meant a loss of talent to the country. if it wasn't because of this incident, I believe that his prospects are actually quite good. as the Chinese saying goes, 'once wrong never a way to turn back'. no matter the magnitude of the mistake, there will not be a chance to regain status quo. forgiveness, though can be earned, cannot heal the wounds and rewind time.

other aspects of this incident are still under investigation. privacy matters and the motive of the film as a political tool (since there are wide speculations that elections are round the corner). as the 1st degree impact of the incident soothes, there will yet to be the 2nd and 3rd degree impact. as the investigation proceeds on, I presume that there will be more news coming up. at the same time, there is certainly a wave of pressure created within the political arena for the elections to be brought forward.

on the other hand, it was of a brave and courageous move that Dr.C has actually admitted the mistake himself. perhaps he is responsible in a way that he is actually resigning all his posts. at least he was being honest too. regaining a commoner status, Dr.C still has a long way to go. there are still many after-effects which might affect him in one way or another. its a good thing that his family has actually forgave him and supports him in everything he does. I believe this support will serve as the main source of motivation for him to face all the after-effects.

jiayou~

in this chaotic political environment, let's all hope that the 'destruction' to the image of our country can be brought to the minimum. I am sure our country's leaders will be able to do it!

~MALAYSIA BOLEH!~

37 days left.

after much considerations, I have decided to take on the intercampus exchange offer and do my 2nd year in caulfield. by agreeing to the offer, I guess I am prepared for whatever challenge that are to come in the year 2008. 1 year away from home, this doesn't sound new to me la, since I was out for 4 years before. however, this time round its a place far away in melbourne and I don't have the chance to come back as often already. in addition, it is more serious study this time round. any paper failures will put me behind time and delay my graduation. also, this time round there will be much more money spent, despite I am still paying malaysian fees.

in view of all the cons, I have chose to take up the offer and heed the advice from the pros. studying abroad, this have been one of my dreams since young. away from home, be independent and to train my determination. I believe that this experience will help me in my future and also allow my to 'grow up'. away from my protected environment, I hope that I will be able to survive and do well in foreign lands.
