NYCB - the passion lives on

went to blogsurf and suddenly was reminded of SYF central judging this year.
actually the blog that I went to was playing 'El Camino Real' in the background.

koop-ed the above design from a junior's blog. a very very nice design. I doubt any of the juniors come to this blog, but for other NYCB-ians that happen to pass by here, I think this is the new band tee design. apart from the usual instrument and section names, this design even has 'I recommend' and 'Appassionata' inside. of course, the band uniform within the design looks good too!

I did switch off the lights and fan in my house.
but I went to the balcony lighting up candles and I didn't switch off my labtop in my room.
oops. forgotten all about it till I went into my room after the hour. haha.

SMSing the guy right in front of me.

just as the second tute for the day started, a comm member called me up to collect this t-shirt design from sbd in campus today. she sent me the number and so I started SMSing.

'hello there. this is xx, from xx committee. i will be collecting ur t-shirt design today in campus. my class ends at 1230, where is it convenient to meet?'

'ouh cool..my class ends de same time...hmmm..are we in de same class..haha.. Ill meet you in front of lib at 12:30? Or..'

'hahaha.where're u having ur claz? im in XX having lending tute :P 1230 sounds good.if we're not in the same claz then we'll meet there then?'

'ouh..im presenting question 2 later :p'

and this guy turned out to be my classmate that was sitting right in front of me. adding to that, he's my classmate for 3 tutes out of 4 this semester. furthermore I had 2/3 tutes (can't remember that well) together with him 3 semesters ago. shockingly to say, we 'know' each other yet we don't know each other. and we SMSed when we were just less than 1m away from each other. hahahahahahahaha...

I totally feel like going to melbourne and staying there for GOOD can~
things are becoming harder and harder right now for me and worse of all I'm falling sick. this fever and bad throat is making me weak and tired. at times of such, I just miss the darlings over there. I know I am quite dependent, I know that apart from my darlings I still have other friends around me.
but I just miss you all, darrrrrrrrrrlinggggggggggs~

*im sick, so make do with my grumpiness :p

What was taught was not what I learned

in primary school teachers taught me what was addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
what I learned was how to mix around with friends, how to live away from my parents.

in secondary school teachers taught me about f=ma and how 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen form water.
what I learned was commitment, independence and having a life of my own.

in college teachers taught me how scarcity was related to the economy and debit here credit there.
what I learned was to drive around, going shopping and to the movies with my friends.

in university lecturers talked about credit crunch and tutors discussed about securitization.
what I learned was juggling time between sleep and going to campus.

in the middle probably some of us learned how to fall in love and how to fall out of love.
some of us got to know ourselves better by clearing our vision and setting our goals.
piece by piece the bits of one start to stack by each other, forming who we are up till now.
we had our believes, our point of view, our comments and of course not forgetting the gossips.
coming back to what was being taught, I doubt we only learned from there. :P

白色情人节

白色情人节快乐！

昨天哥回来的时候提醒了我们说‘今天是黑色星期五’。
然后想想，真是friday the thirteenth。
所以可能昨天所有的不如意事都被入罪于黑色星期五的衰运吧！

上网查了查，原来白色情人节（14/3）是日韩文化里的一部分。
据说，情人节当天收到女生送巧克力或小礼物的男生需要在白色情人节当天回礼。其实这只不过是以前的巧克力公司为了搞噱头才推广的一种风气。因为西方情人节是巧克力非常的畅销，所以才想到要收礼物的人回礼来增加销售额。但之所以这个习俗被流传下来，也许意味着情侣/爱人间的‘礼尚往来’。*so sweet right?*

So I walk on, standing strong.

sometimes I thought I was strong.
I used to think that I was good at managing my own life.
but now as I turn behind and look back at the path I came from, it seems not.

at the end of the day, I am yet but a normal girl.
the immature me that wants someone to tolerate my childishness.
the ordinary me that wishes to be able to protect myself from being hurt.
the noisy me that enjoys crowd and fun but requires some time for silent thoughts.
the ambitious me that tries to be strong but needs someone to be there when I fall.

in a few days' time I will turn 20.
reminiscing the past, I hope to be better.

some long overdued photos. took place about a week ago, celebrating vuidak's birthday in advance and also bidding farewell. his third birthday celebration with us! wOw, like how fast time passed us. and of course, wishing him all the best for this last year in melbourne!

Experience@Singapore

another experience of hope being lighted and extinguished then.

in case any of you are interested, there is actually this Experience@Singapore package which charges RM280 for 3D3N trip to Singapore. the catch essentially falls on the guided tour and career fair being included in its itinerary. for me, this caught my attention because with this I will be able to return to spore and look for my love ones. I thought application would be easy for me since they only required a CV stating the usual stuff and a 500-word essay regarding the offer. then came the school e-mail which clearly states that applicants have to achieve a CGPA of 3.0.

for 2 days I wonder how to calculate my CGPA. because in monash grades are in HDs, Ds, Cs and Ps. nobody ever told me about this CGPA business and I didn't bother with it much too. then dajie passed me this link to the calculation of Grade Point Average(GPA). with the thought that I am getting a credit average might qualify me for the application, I happily started working on my GPA score. it is quite clearly stated on that website whereby GPA is equivalent to the division of the sum of all unit credit points multiplied by the unit score and the sum of all unit credit points.

halfway through the calculation mental arithmetics have told me to forget about this package. because by the looks of it I so do not qualify. then I realise how low my GPA score is now and should put in more effort to bring up the score before I graduate. well, at least next time when I apply for any other thing I will be more aware of this GPA requirement and my own stand in terms of this scoring system.

I have to just work harder.

Uni starts

second day at uni.

argh, just didn't feel like it. because I was asked to come to uni at 8AM for 2 1-hour replacement lectures on both tuesday and wednesday. and according to allocate+ I don't have any lessons on tuesdays so it comes down to me driving to uni just for this 1-hour. and believe me, I completely dozed off during lecture all thanks to the lack of sleep that started to accumulate since donkey years ago. ok fine it wasn't lack of sleep essentially, its insomnia, bleah...

then I realise I really miss melbourne.
